About the Project Directors

Dr. Timothy M. Chester

Dr. Timothy M. Chester is Chief Information Officer at Pepperdine University.  In this capacity, he works to align technology initiatives and services with the teaching, research, and administrative functions of the campus.  Dr. Chester is responsible for supervising all of the campus technology initiatives, including application development, infrastructure, workstation support, data center, network, instructional technology, research computing, and user support services.  Dr. Chester is recognized as an authority in using XML to integrate client-server and web-based solutions with mainframe systems and other non-relational data sources.  His writings have appeared in Dr. Dobbs Journal, Visual Studio Magazine, IT Pro and Educause Quarterly.  His work at Texas A&M has been profiled in leading industry publications such as Computer World, eWeek, and InfoWorld as well as case studies by Microsoft and Apple Computer.  Dr. Chester, his wife Gail, and his dog Elle reside in Malibu, California on the campus of Pepperdine University.  You can reach Dr. Chester via email at timothy.chester@pepperdine.edu.
