Assess: Conduct Assessments Without Hassle
Survey research is a time consuming and complex process. It takes considerable effort to produce
a Web site for the survey, create and send bulk email invitations for the survey,
and produce charts and graphs illustrating the survey results. To eliminate this complexity, the Higher Education TechQual+ Project has
delivered a set of easy-to-use, Web-based tools so participating institutions can:
- Design an assessment based on the core Higher Education TechQual+ Assessment instrument. In addition to the 18 core service dimensions,
institutions may add additional items unique to their institution. Custom open-ended questions may also be added.
- Manage their respondents by uploading them through a bulk import process. When uploading respondents, institutions have the option to include up to ten descriptive
attributes for each respondent (such as role, class year, gender, major, campus, or other group attribute). When analyzing survey results, institutions
may filter the results based on different attributes. Using this approach, institutions are able to disaggregate end user expectations
across different constitutencies or different parts of their institution.
- Invite respondents to complete the survey through email invitations and reminders. Email messages may be sent to all respondents or different groups
of respondents based on the attributes loaded with respondents. Participating institutions have full control over the content of email messages.
Once submitted, bulk email messages are delivered to respondents using server infrastructure maintained
by the Higher Education TechQual+ Project at Pepperdine University.
- Administer surveys easily as the TechQual+ Web site provides the scalable infrastructure necessary to support a survey with thousands of respondents.
Surveys are branded to reflect their participating institution's identity. Survey results are maintained confidentially and institutions have the
ability to remove all identifying respondent information from the database once the survey is complete. Procedures ensuring
confidentiality have been reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board of
Seaver College at Pepperdine University.
